About

I am a recording engineer/producer with Yum Digital, working out of Bush Traks Recording Studio in Nimbin, New South Wales, Australia. In my role there, I manage the studio, organise all client bookings and record and produce the many artists who record at Bush Traks.

I designed and built the studio more than 20 years ago and since then have recorded scores of artists and won numerous awards for engineering and production at the North Coast Annual Dolphin Awards, recording all styles of music from singer/songwriters to rock, pop, jazz and 50 piece concert bands. My awards include..

• 2008 – Production/Engineering for “Precious Things” by David Reeve

• 2003 – Production/Engineering for “Love Comes” by Durga Babies

• 1995 – Best Engineer award

• 1993 – Best engineered song – “Talking To A Wall”

• 1992 – Best engineered song – “Too Many” by The Bourkenbacks

I started my career as a musician in Scotland, first playing drums, then moving to bass guitar and flute. Being a musician gives me the extra skills required for producing and recording other artists.

As well as working in the studio, I also keep up my skills with live mixing of local bands and have operated many concert sound systems over the years from analog to digital systems.

I am also a recognised trainer with A.C.E. North Coast (Adult Community Education) based in Lismore, New South Wales and have run recording courses within Bush Traks Studio over the past 5 years, developing a good set of communication skills, much needed when working with a group of people.
